Great News !
Blondie & Ruby won
"Best of Winners"
in 3 out of 3 shows at the Nationals in Phila. with Ruby's big win over 24 other German Pinschers in the 1'st AKC
"Specialty's Show " on November 15, 2003
A German Pinscher is a rare breed dog that looks a lot like a Doberman but only grows to about 17 to 20 inches tall and weighs about 35 to 40 pounds at most. (After having Dobermans for 25 years, we appreciate this smaller size) German Pinschers have a very long lifespan and are excellent house pets. They barely shed, are very intelligent, and are loyal life-long companions. German Pinschers are just becoming recognized in the USA after over 400 years of popularity in Europe. It is said that they are one of the foundations of the Doberman. A German Pinscher dog is often mistaken for a Doberman puppy, a giant Miniature Pinscher, or a very muscular Manchester Terrier. In Germany, its homeland, it was known as a "ratter", a hunter of rats and vermin.

History Of The Breed
Originally, the German Pinscher Litters had both smooth & wirehaired puppies. When Pinscher-Schnauzer Klub(PSK) was founded in Germany in 1895, it was agreed that only smooth coated German Pinschers would be bred, which became the main goal for the breeders at that time. By separating the long & short-haired specimens in the same litters, and by selective breeding, the "PSK" produced a very remarkable dog. After the World War the German Pinscher began to lose popularity in his homeland. In the mid-1950's, Karl Werner Junghof saved this breed from near extinction. Junghof was able to find a few of these dogs left in Germany and started a serious breeding program. In the United States there are about 500 German Pinschers, with a handful of serious breeders promoting the breed. German Pinschers are now accepted by the AKC as of 3/1/01
Secrets
German Pinschers are a lot of fun to live with. They are entertaining with their antics and have been known to be regular clowns.
Your life will never be dull with a German Pinscher living in your home They are long lived and will keep their puppy playfulness well into their older years. They love to travel and enjoy adventure in any form.
It has been said that the German Pinscher was Germany's "Best Kept Secret".
Family Pet
German Pinschers make excellent housepets. They are happiest when allowed to live with the family. They are very clean and have no doggie odor. Grooming is minimal and
German Pinscher coats have been affectionately described as "perma-press". The puppies do like to chew , so give them lots of toys to play with. They get along fine with other animals in the house, especially if they are raised with them.
Please look at all the nice comments we are receiving in our guest book below.
Abilities
The German Pinscher has a natural instinct that makes them excellent watch dogs, but with the ratter background they will go to ground in a heartbeat. German Pinschers are willing and quick learners. It is necessary to be firm but gentle with them and obedience classes are strongly advised. Because of their great intelligence, they can sometimes be stubborn and singleminded. Once taught, a German Pinscher will never forget. German Pinschers are shown , not only in  Beauty classes, but also in     obedience, agility, and even in Schutzhund!
Appearance
German Pinschers are medium sized dogs. They resemble the Doberman and Miniature Pinscher only in their colors. They come in black and rust, red (with no markings) , blue and tan, and fawn. Adult German Pinschers weigh between 25 and 40 pounds and the standard height is 17 to 20 inches at the shoulder. Ears are cropped for looks ,but can be natural. They are very muscular dogs with a very keen look about them.
